Summer School XRQTC

The Theoretical and Computational Chemistry Summer School is an initiative of the Catalonian Reference Network  on Theoretical and Computational Chemistry with the intention of creating a tool for the diffusion of the latest developments in the field of chemistry today, with special emphasis on the role played by the different branches of theoretical chemistry in the comprehension and modelling of the phenomena involved.

We also believe that it is important to provide a forum for learning about the work being carried out by the different research groups that make up the network. Our purpose is therefore to maintain ―within the specific possibilities of each research subject― an equilibrium between the Network members and external scientists in the teaching team. The international scope of the school, which will be conducted in English, will be further enhanced by the participation of foreign professors.

The contents are structured in three modules, each of them dealing with one specific topic. The idea is to consider several varied problems, that may interest most of the network members. At the same time, we want to stay away from strictly methodological topics in order to attract students from related fields but who are not working strictly in theoretical chemistry.

In the short modules (A, B), the presentation of the topic will include both experimental and theoretical points of view. The long module (C) will include practical exercises with computers. Each module has been assigned to a member of the network as director, which will be fully responsible for the contents and the identity of the invited professsors.
