foto_silviaSilvia Osuna, from the IQCC and member of the XRQTC, has received the prestigious Starting Grant of the European Research Council for her project NetMoDEzyme, network models for the computational design of proficient enzymes.
NetMoDEzyme has as main objective the development of a computational protocol based on “network models” to routinely design enzymes useful for any chemical reaction of pharmaceutical interest. An highly effective protocol would permit to use biocatalysis extensively in industries, which would lead to a decrease of the productions costs and, on consequence, the reduction in prize of many of the drugs available in the market.
